Dhaulagiri round trek is challenging yet an adventurous trek that takes you through some stunning glaciers and high snow-clad passes to Dhaulagiri base camp.

Mt. Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest mountain in the world, rises at 8167m. The lush landscape, hidden valleys, high mountains pass along with many snow-capped peaks like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna and other neighboring peaks is a natural boom that makes Dhaulagiri trek a natural paradise.

The biggest reward of Dhaulagiri round trek is crossing two high mountain passes namely French Pass and Dhampus pass which rises above 5000m. In the same way, the trek will lead you to fall in love with different types of plants and animals. Something that astonishes is the way people in the remote area live their lives.

  • Day 01 - Arrival in Katmandu (1,337m)

    After you land at Tribhuwan International Airport in Katmandu, you will be received by our representatives who will then assist you to transfer to your hotel. After check-in, we will have a short briefing of your trek. The remaining time is free for independent activities. You can relax or have an evening stroll around the city for your own leisure.

  • Day 02 - Kathmandu sightseeing and trek preparation

    While our staff prepares your trek permits, we will take a tour of Kathmandu. This ancient city has lots of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We will first visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, which used to be the palace of the rulers of the ancient Kathmandu. We will then take you to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world. Next, we will visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest unique stupas in the world. Take some time to immerse yourself in the spiritual vibes of Boudhanath after which we will head back to the hotel. You will then meet your guide for trek briefing.

  • Day 03 - Drive to Darbang – (1100m)

    We will fly to Pokhara, the starting point of our trek. After reaching Pokhara, we will drive down into kali Gandaki valley and up the tributary Myagdi Khola.

  • Day 04 - Trek to Sibang (1770m) – Approx 7 hrs

    After breakfast, we will begin today’s trek. We will eventually cross several villages and reach Dharapani, where we will have our lunch. We will cross multiple suspension bridges, pass settlement of Takam and finally reach Sibang, a neatly flagstoned Gurung village.

  • Day 05 - Trek to Naura Bhir (1450m) – Approx 8 hrs

    We will walk to the large village of Muri and have our lunch there. After having sightseeing for an hour we will continue our trek via Myagdi Khola and will reach Naura Bhir by evening where we can have comfortable hotels to stay.

  • Day 06 - Trek to Lapche kharka (2000m) – Approx 8 hrs

    After breakfast, we will continue the trail to northwards, following Myagdi Khola. We descend to the rivers passing through dense forest and continue to climb up to the Lapche Kharka.

  • Day 07 - Trek to Sallaghrari (2500m) – Approx 7 hrs

    After leaving Lapche Kharka in the morning, we will continue climbing through the forest to Dhoban where we will have our lunch ready and will take an hour rest to see the beautiful view of the open grazing area there. After walking a few hours from Dhoban, we will get to Sallaghari, where we will end today's trek.

  • Day 08 - Trek to Italian Base Camp (3,660m) – Approx. 5 hrs

    Our trail continues through a forested area to reach one of the best places to visit, an Italian base camp, from where we will able to see an amazing view of the west face of Dhaulagiri.

  • Day 09 - Trek to Japanese camp (4200m) – Approx. 4 hrs

    Today we will have the most chilling part of our long trek since we will cross the gorge and glacier with the help of the ropes. The trail continues with the majestic view of Dhaulagiri and reaches the Japanese Base Camp.

  • Day 10 - Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4748m)

    After breakfast, we will follow the rough trail along the moraine. The route is also covered by a glacier. The amazing views of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak and   Little Eiger in front of us will give us a feeling of heaven on the earth.

  • Day 11 - Trek to Hidden Valley (5141m) via French pass (5360m) – Approx 4 hrs

    We will ascent to the top of French Pass after having our breakfast from Base camp. Keep in mind that this is another adventurous day in the high altitude. Getting off the glacier above the base camp often requires a rope, but once off the moraine walls, we are in safer and gentler country. After climbing to the top of French Col, the views of the hidden valley open out.

  • Day 12 - Hidden valley camp

    This is a rest day to admire the surrounding peaks and perhaps do some exploring in the hidden valley. A hidden snow valley gives you a heavenly test of the white world.

  • Day 13 - Trek to Yak kharka (4400m) – Approx 7 hrs

    After breakfast, we will keep descending steeply to yak kharka after climbing over the 5200m Dhampus Pass. The stunning views mountain will continue as we walkthrough. The Dhampus Pass between the Tukuche peak and Thapa peak is another heaven on the trip. Teahouses along the route are welcoming and comfortable as we eventually reach yak kharka.

  • Day 14 - Trek to Marpha (2665m) – Jomsom Approx 6 hrs

    Leaving Yak Kharka, we will descend along to the main civilization. Marpha is the main place for the Thakali. Continue north, up the river valley to the town of Jomsom. We will test the apple of the Jomsom that is famous among the tourists.

  • Day 15 - Fly to Pokhara (810m) – Approx 20 mins

    We take an early morning flight to Pokhara. There we can have a day roaming around some beautiful places like peace pagoda, lakeside and have a leisure day.

  • Day 16 - Pokhara to Kathmandu- Approx 25 mins flight or drive 7 hours

    We can take a flight or take a drive to Kathmandu. We can have a very relaxing day at the hotel. Meanwhile, it is your last stay in Nepal, you can have your time to buy a souvenir or enjoy roaming Kathmandu and you can enjoy your last night having Nepali cultural dinner.

  • Day 17 - Final departure

    Now we are at the end of our trek and it is time to bid goodbye to one another. We will drop you to the international airport to catch your flight back to your home back. Safe journey.
